The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is winding down as they head to North Texas for the AAA Texas 500. After this race there is just two more in the season and Spring Cup Chase for the Cup. The race will be at Texas Motor Speedway, an extremely fast track.
Carl Edwards won the pole for Sunday’s race.
“A lot of guys say they could run a faster lap, all of us can always do that, but I believe our car is even better than that,” Edwards said, via FOX Sports. “I am really excited about practice tomorrow (Saturday) and the race. It looks like the weather will be good, a lot like what we tested in, and hopefully we can apply all that stuff.”
Lurking behind Edwards are Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth. Johnson and Kenseth are tied for the points lead headed into Sunday’s race.
“I don’t think there’s a weakness for either team right now,” Johnson said. “We’re probably going to finish by each other. If somebody has a mistake, I think that will be the deciding factor. But other than that, I think we’re going to run right around each other for these next three races.”
