The situation inside of the Miami Dolphins locker room is getting uglier by the second and it extends far beyond the bullying that has allegedly been directed at offensive tackle Jonathan Martin. According to the latest reports, some Dolphins veterans are taking financial advantage of the rookies and they have been using the rookies “as ATMs.”
From Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald:
One young defensive player, whose privacy I'm protecting, has literally gone broke because he's been pressured to pay for older players.

They've gotten sucked into the Miami lifestyle, and the veterans are using the younger players as an ATM, I'm told.

Recently, a younger player was handed the tab for a $30,000 team dinner. The rookie minimum this year is around $400.000.

When I talked about anger, dysfunction last week, this is what I was referring to. This issue extends far beyond the Martin situation.

This is obviously a huge issue that won’t be going away anytime soon.
Not only is this completely wrong by the veterans if it proves to be true, but it is completely unethical and the NFL will step in and take actions.
There is no place for this in the sport, especially when the locker room is supposed to be a family.
This is far from the last we have heard about the situation, so stay tuned.
