What: Exhibition Game – Montevallo at UK

When: 7 p.m. EST Monday

TV: WKYT-27 and Fox Sports South

Radio: WLAP-AM 630, WBUL-FM 98.1

Thew Kentucky Wildcats will open the 2013-14 college basketball season as the No. 1 team in almost every major poll, and their final exhibition game will be tonight when they host the Montevello Falcons at Rupp Arena.

Talk about a contrast of programs: The Wildcats won the NCAA Division I national championship the same season the Falcons made their first appearance in the NCAA Division II national championship game during the 2011-2012 season.

The Falcons will be led by junior Troran Brown, who has earned several preseason honors leading up to the 2013-2014 season.

Brown led the team with an average of 18.7 points per game last season while shooting 48.8 percent from the floor, including 38.6 percent from beyond the arc, and shot 77.2 percent from the charity stripe. Brown also averaged 5.8 assists per game.

Freshman forward Julius Randle will lead the way for UK. His debut saw him post a double-double in a 76-42 exhibition victory over Transylvania on Friday night. Randle’s 16 points on 6/9 shooting and 12 rebounds led the way for the Cat’s highly-touted freshmen class.

The Falcons will open the regular season Saturday, Nov. 9 at home against the University of West Florida, while UK will open it’s season Friday against North Carolina Asheville.
