The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has come alive today against the Buffalo Bills, but they’ve done so without the help of rookie safety Shamarko Thomas for much of the game after he left the game with an ankle injury.
Shamarko Thomas has a left ankle injury. His return is questionable.

He injured his ankle while attempting to tackles Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson:
The term "ankle-breaker" is overused, but it looks like Stevie Johnson actually injured Shamarko Thomas with move he made on him that play.

Thomas was in the process of wrapping up Bills receiver Steve Johnson after a reception. As he was trying to take him to the ground, it appeared Thomas’s left ankle got caught underneath him. Thomas plays in the Steelers’ quarter package and has made 22 tackles. Thomas is also a regular on the special-teams units.
