The Houston Texans have been struggling with depth at running back. The position was one of strength, but injuries have held the unit back. Arian Foster is having season-ending surgery to repair a disc in his back, while Ben Tate has been playing with broken ribs.

“There’s not much you can do,” Tate said, via the Houston Chronicle. “It’s just the same thing each week.”

The only thing you can do with broken ribs is wait patiently.

“It’s easier,” he said. “I felt like I could move a little better, catch better and have a little more wiggle. Hopefully, it’s getting better and better.

“You feel the soreness at its worse today and Tuesday. Then it gets better and I can tell I’m improving. Mondays and Tuesdays are pretty tough.”

Tate said a couple Cardinals defenders seemed to target his ribs in an effort to hurt him and knock him out of the game. Tate wouldn’t name any one specifically though.

“A couple of guys in this game were (going after ribs),” he said. “Some guys are going to be like that. That’s the kind of players they are. You just have to be aware of who they are and try to protect myself. It’s part of the game. There’s nothing I can really do about it.”
