The Pittsburgh Steelers are surprisingly still in the mix for the AFC North crown, but they have a tough task on Sunday afternoon when they welcome the surging Detroit Lions. The Lions passing attack in one of the top three in the league, while the Steelers defense has struggled greatly — especially in the secondary.
Surprisingly, the Lions are just three-point favorites, so there could be plenty of opportunity to cover the spread and make those in Vegas happy.
To make matters worse for the Steelers, rookie safety Shamarko Thomas, who has played extensively in the quarter package, has been ruled out of the game and the team will need to rely on far less talented players to shut down Stafford and star wide receiver Calvin Johnson.
If the Patriots were able to put up 55-points on the Steelers defense a couple of weeks ago, this one could get ugly very fast.
