Houston Rockets center Omer Asik wanted out of Texas as soon as they signed Dwight Howard. Asik has asked for a trade and was benched tonight. Asik looks less than thrilled to be sitting on the bench. There is a GIF of him below staring off into space like an angry teenager.
Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle says his benching has more to do with his effort than trade requests.
Yes, you can read into Smith playing and Asik sitting at will. But it's not trade request as much as how has played lately to get benched.

At risk of being painfully obvious, McHale is clearly unhappy w Asik. If going with Smith wasn't clear enough, returning to Jones is.
