It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the New York Jets signed veteran free safety Ed Reed after the Houston Texans released him earlier this week. While he never lived up to the billing of the All-Pro safety he’s been for most of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan still thinks Reed has enough left in the tank to help his young New York squad get to the playoffs after most predicted them to be among the NFL’s wort teams this year.
As to whether he’ll play Sunday vs the Buffalo Bills, Ryan thinks he has a shot to play, even though the game will take place just three days after Reed joined the team:
Ryan heard about Reed being released and jokes he pulled a hamstring running to tell Idzik, who was already on it. #Jets #NFL

"Will he play? I think he has a chance to play." Ryan said with a smile. #Jets #NFL
