At Detroit Lions practice on Friday, wide receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive end Ziggy Ansah returned to practice. Johnson sat out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday with “maintenance issues.”

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press says that they shouldn’t be worried about those issues for now. He also said that Johnson will be ready to go on Sunday and “thats all that matters now.

Meanwhile, running back Reggie Bush was absent on Friday from practice. This is being classified as a “veteran’s day off” and is just to get him some extra rest. Bush got last Friday off as well. There is no reason to think that Bush won’t be ready to go this weekend.

Bush says the Lions are still looking to hit that “next level.”

“For our offensive performance last week, I give us a ‘B’ because we played good, but we still haven’t hit that next level,” Bush wrote for the Lions’ website. “We just haven’t hit that next level yet as an offense … as a team, really. We know it’s going to come, it’s just about being patient. We’ll see what happens this week.”
