The college basketball season is underway, and National Signing Day is here for the next week as many of the top high school recruits are deciding where they will be attending college in 2014. They are able to sign their official letters of intent, which will bind their commitment to whatever school they pledge to.

The nation’s No. 1 recruit is Whitney M. Young center Jahlil Okafor, who will choose either the Duke Blue Devils or the Kansas Jayhawks today.

He’ll do so while five-star point guard Tyus Jones, whom Okafor is intent on playing with in college,  has also narrowed his list to Duke and Kansas. The two players will announce simultaneously on Friday, as they’re close friends and have long said they plan to play at the same school.

They visited Duke last weekend on an official visit, but Okafor later said he remains undecided:

"“To all these ‘sources’ saying they know where I’m going to school because someone ‘close’ to me told them. Quit the lies. I DONT KNOW YET,” he Tweeted."

Jones has said he wants to get it over with by the early signing period.

"“I think we’ll all feel good when it’s time to commit,” he told SNY.tv in August."

The team that gets Jones and Okafor, who have pledged to attend college together, will be landing the best players in the 2014 class around whom a coach can build a team.
