Well, that didn’t take long. Less than one week after signing with the New York Jets following his release from the Houston Texans, veteran safety Ed Reed is set to suit up for the team on Sunday afternoon. Not only will Reed be active, however, he will also be getting the start in place of Antonio Allen.

Reed is familiar with Jets head coach Rex Ryan from their time together with the Baltimore Ravens, so it was a natural fit to bring the future Hall of Famer on board to the Jets defense.

Hopefully for the team, who is in the thick of the AFC playoff picture, Reed will be able to provide a boost to their secondary and help the team score a big win today over the division rival Buffalo Bills and continue keeping pace in the postseason race.

The defense has been a strength for the Jets throughout the first few months of the season, so it is going to be interesting to see how Reed’s presence will impact the team.
