  1. Florida State Seminoles: Not even an alleged sexual assault scandal hovering over their Heisman hopeful QB could slow this team down. The ‘Noles flexed their muscle again, this time against Syracuse, 59-3.
  2. Clemson Tigers: They looked like the Tigers that were once ranked third in the country in their 55-21 rout of Georgia Tech this past Thursday. They’re still in position to grab an at-large BCS berth.
  3. Duke Blue Devils: No, this is not misplaced. And the statement you’re about to read is 100% true: The Duke Blue Devils beat the Miami Hurricanes in a football game. Because of that outcome, Duke may end up seeing Florida State in Charlotte for the ACC Title.
  4. Miami Hurricanes: Well, the ‘Canes have certainly been brought back down to earth after starting 7-0, haven’t they. After losing to Duke, there is going to be some serious soul-searching going on in South Beach.
  5. Virginia Tech Hokies: After dropping another one, this time to Maryland, this team desperately needs the bye week that’s coming their way.
  6. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: It wasn’t a pretty one by any means against Clemson in Death Valley, but they have a chance to get their seventh win on the year this week against Alabama A&M.
  7. North Carolina Tar Heels: After a rocky start to an optimistic season, the Heels got their fifth win of the year by defeating a Pitt team that had just beaten Notre Dame. Anything positive you can get, Heels, take it.
  8. Boston College Eagles: Well, look who’s bowl eligible! Boston College defeated N.C. State and are now ready for postseason play once again. Tremendous job by Steve Addazio in year one.
  9. Pitt Panthers: Which Pitt team will show up? No one really knows the answer to that. What we know is that they lost to a struggling North Carolina team one week after upending Notre Dame in primetime.
  10. Syracuse Orange: Welcome to the ACC, Orange. Meet Florida State. After getting a rude conference welcome by the ‘Noles, they’ll take on Pitt, which all things considered from above, could easily be a win.
  11. Maryland Terrapins: Huge boost for this team taking down Virginia Tech, who was once thought of as the run-away winner of the Coastal.
  12. Wake Forest Demon Deacons: The Deacons were on a bye, and now will take on the Coastal kings at the moment in Duke.
  13. NC State Wolfpack: The oddsmakers have made East Carolina the early favorite in this week’s match up. That’s what it’s come to in Raleigh.
  14. Virginia Cavailers: Yeah, this will pretty much be it for Mike London down the stretch here. They’re going to be taking applications in Charlottesville very soon.
