According to the Houston Chronicle, a pair of former presidents were on hand for Sunday’s NFL contest between the Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders:
"Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, riding in a golf cart, led the Texans on the field for Sunday’s game.It was a part of the team’s Salute to Service Day at Reliant Stadium. The presidents also took part in the pregame coin flip. The Raiders won the toss.Later, during a break in the game, George W. Bush and wife Laura were shown on the jumbotron during the Kiss-cam segment."
They certainly got their money’s worth, as the game was closely-contested through, and it came down to the wire as the Texans were driving for the game-winning score in the closing seconds of the game.
But quarterback Matt Schaub could not find an open receiver on fourth-and-goal, and the Raiders hung on for a crucial road-win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
