Waiver Wire Electricity

I’m assuming guys like Markieff Morris, Andrea Bargnani, Steve Blake, Miles Plumlee, Jordan Hill, Lance Stephenson, and J.J. Hickson are securely nestled on a roster by now.  Here are a few men to consider swiping if you have the luxury to do so.

Terrence Jones – When a man can record double-doubles while blocking shots and shooting 3’s, you dive on that fumble.  To sweeten the deal, Omer is on the outs, and Greg Smith is hurt.  Ride the Jones train while you can, and who knows?  The track might extend longer than you think.

Jason Smith – He is available at this moment in our league.  I’d nab him, but I own Anthony Davis.  In case you didn’t hear, Greg Stiemsma is out for at least 6 more weeks.  Ryan Anderson returned in a big way, but Smith should still see 30 minutes a game.  He will not hurt you anywhere and provides shot-blocking potential.

Martell Webster – Webster was proving to be roster-worthy, but his traditional inconsistency set in.  However, with Ariza out a few games, you should give a hard look at Martell for the coming week.

Josh McRoberts – When MJ said that the success of the team is Josh McRoberts, everyone turned their heads with very puzzled eyebrows.  Josh is averaging 1.6 three’s and 4.7 assists per game from the PF slot.  In addition, he has had big games with Al Jefferson in the lineup.  He is definitely worth a look even if you have an adequate frontcourt.

DeJuan Blair – He is averaging about 10 points, 8 rebounds, 0.6 blocks, and a whopping 2.2 steals in less than 22 minutes.  His free throw percentage is a drag, but DeJuan is instant, positive energy off of the Mavericks’ bench.

Tony Allen – Allen is quietly putting together an admirable stat line.  He is averaging 10 points, 0.4 three’s, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 0.4 blocks.  If you need a third string SG, look no further.

Jodie Meeks – Meeks is the classic specialist.  He is officially bombing 3’s.  Don’t forget my hypothesis, but Jodie is definitely worth a roster spot for his 3 point shooting prowess.

Trey Burke – It might be time to stash Burke.  Utah is STRUGGLING!  They have conducted numerous PG experiments, but success has been elusive.  Burke stunk it up in Summer League and will probably be extremely rusty upon his return, but it’s a long season.  He might be a guy you regret not plucking from the wire.
