Howie Long’s two boys will go head to head on Sunday
By David Miniel
A siblings rivalry. If you have a brother, old or young, there is always a rivalry between the two or the group depending on how many you have.
Even females experience this rivalry but it’s never as intense compared to males. Especially when you’re a professional football player. Now there has been a bunch of brothers who have played together or against each other in the National Football League.
Now this Sunday when the Chicago Bears take on the St. Louis Rams, we will see brothers Kyle and Chris Long going head to head. You know Chris is going to want to lineup across his little brother and see who can get the best of who.
Chris has been a strong piece of St. Louis’s defense ever since he was drafted back in 2008. He has a career 48.5 sacks, 208 tackles, seven forced fumbles and four recoveries with a total of 45 yards.
Their Father won’t be at the game considering he works on Sunday’s for FOX, but I bet he’s going to have that game on with a big smile on his face.
We all know how much of a beast their Father was and how Chris was before his brother Kyle came along.
Kyle, who was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Bears, has stepped up and took a leadership role with this new look offensive line. Things have been looking a lot better for this offensive front and a big part of that is because of Long.
The rookie has already gained the respect of his teammates as he’s shown that he is indeed his Father’s son. Long’s are one of the toughest and outspoken players on the field. If they don’t like what’s going on and know it’s wrong, they’re going to speak up. If they see you trying to mess with one of their teammates, they’ll be the first ones in your face.
It’s just going to be interesting to see how heated this match up is going to be. You gotta love games like this one.
