Keenan Allen becoming leader for San Diego Chargers
By Jason Marcum
The San Diego Chargers were one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL last year, but through the first-half of this year, many viewed them as the surprise team of the 2013 NFL season. At 4-3 and heading into their by week, San Diego looked like a team destined to earn a playoff berth in the AFC, which features a bevy of 5-5 teams tied for the final Wild Card playoff spot.
But the Chargers aren’t one of them, as a three-game losing-streak has the Chargers fighting for their playoff lives this weekend when they head to Arrowhead Stadium to face the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs.
Though he is a rookie, Chargers receiver Keenan Allen is becoming a leader for this team, and he still believes his team can go on a run:
"Being on a three game losing streak is tough, but me personally, I’m always going to come out and try to get better. I’ll never be satisfied, and I think that’s the mindset of the team as well. We’re going to keep on trying to build our bond and come through this losing streak. We still believe in ourselves, so we’re going to come out, play our best and hopefully we can go on a run."
