Ed Reed returned to Baltimore with his new team, the New York Jets. Unfortunately, for Reed that makes him 0-2 in Baltimore this season. In Week 3, Reed and the Houston Texans lost to Baltimore.
The Jets were the first on the board with a 27-yard field goal from Nick Folk in the first quarter. On the following possession, the Baltimore Ravens drove down the field and Justin Tucker kicked a 30-yard field goal to tie the game.
The rest of the game was a lot of field goals. In the first five minutes of the second quarter, Tucker converted 26 yard field goal. Tucker added another 33-yard try at the two minute warning before the half. That gave the Ravens a 9-3 lead.
The third quarter saw Tucker convert a 53-yard field goal about five minutes in. At the end of the third quarter, Jacoby Jones caught a 66-yard pass from Joe Flacco to score the game’s first touchdown.
The real issue this game was turnovers. The Jets had three, including a pair of interceptions from rookie quarterback Geno Smith. Flacco was intercepted once, the Ravens lone turn over. Aside from that the Ravens dominated time of possession.
Interesting side note, Jets wide receiver Josh Cribbs completed 1 of two passes for 13 yards.
