Miami blocks Panthers field goal, sort of (GIF)

The Miami Dolphins are hosting the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Panthers marched down the field and got into field goal range and sent Graham Gano out for a field goal attempt.

He had made 14/15 on the season when he went out for the 35-yard attempt. Unfortunately, this one never had a chance. The Dolphins special team got up and blocked the kick and it went rolling out of bounds. Disappointing for the Dolphins that they couldn’t pick the ball up and get the score.

It still caused a turn over on downs as the ball rolled out of bounds. It is the kind of stop the Dolphins will need if they’re going to end the Panthers win streak. The Panthers have been incredibly hot and have won games against the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots recently.

[UPDATE:] It was kicked off of a Panthers lineman’s helmet. Miami did not block the kick themselves.
