Suns vs. Magic final score: Suns topple Magic, 104-96
By Ben Beecken
The Phoenix Suns rode a huge performance by point guard Goran Dragic on Sunday night to defeat the Orlando Magic on their home floor, 104-96.
Dragic scored 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting and added 13 assists while committing zero (0!) turnovers. Guard Gerald Green scored 20 points of his own, along with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. The Magic were led by 20 points and 10 rebounds by Nikola Vucevic. Phoenix outscored the Magic by the score of 31-21 in the first quarter, and rode that advantage all the way to victory, being outscored 75-73 the rest of the way.
The Suns have been extremely impressive in the early going, getting back above .500 with Sunday’s victory. Orlando isn’t a great team, with their record now sitting at 4-9 on the season, but it’s still a win on the road against another young, energetic team. It’s going to be tough for the Suns to hang close to the playoff pack in the rough and tumble Western Conference, but they’re doing a solid job thus far.
The Morris twins (Markieff and Marcus) added a combined 28 points on 13 of 24 shooting off the bench for Phoenix. They also combined for 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks.
