Katherine Webb is the popular girlfriend of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron. Webb is also an Auburn graduate, so she will be torn whenever she attends the Iron Bowl on Saturday, which is set to have some serious BCS implications.
Believe it or not, this will also be the first Iron Bowl that Webb has ever attended, so she is excited to see how it all plays out.
“This is the first actual game, Iron Bowl, that I will be attending,” she told USA TODAY Sports. “I don’t know what to expect and I’m really nervous.”
“Of course I want to see AJ have that fourth championship ring, so I really want them to do well. That’s what I’m nervous about. I’m not nervous about his talent or abilities as a player. Of course, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the outcome.”
It is a very heated rivalry game, so Webb may get some interesting comments from the crowd, but she doesn’t seem too worried about how it will all play out — at least that was her answer, which shows the “former Miss Alabama beauty pageant woman” shining through.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to expect,” Webb said. “AJ just in his protective nature, we talked about it (Wednesday) night. And he was like, ‘I’m concerned. I don’t know what the fans are gonna do.’ And I’m like, ‘It’s OK. I’ll be sweet, genuine and nice like I always am if anything were to happen.’
“Even in my experience at Auburn, it’s been very, very rare to see fans that have been rude or anything like that.”
While Webb could draw some attention in the stands, we all know that what really matters is the action that is going to take place on the field. It’s going to be exciting to see two of the best teams in the nation face off and we could be left scrambling to see who will be in the BCS title game next January.
