The Auburn Tigers were able to shock the world on Saturday, with a last second win over the top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide. With one second remaining in the game, Alabama attempted a 57-yard field, which came up short and fell right into the hands of Auburn kick returner Chris Davis.

From there, the rest is history.

Davis returned to missed field goal for a touchdown that gave Auburn the miracle win.

Now, Auburn’s athletic director, Jay Jacobs, has begun to campaign for his team to make the national title game. Of course, first they will have to get past the Missouri Tigers in the SEC championship, but Jacobs believes that a one-loss SEC team should earn a BCS title berth over an undefeated Ohio State team.

From Hannah Storm of ESPN:

Auburn will likely sit at No. 4 when the updated BCS rankings are released, while Missouri will be No. 5. Ohio State will likely be at No. 3.

It is going to be interesting to see how the final weekend plays out, but it is likely that the SEC champion will be left out of the national championship unless Florida State or Ohio State fall in their conference championships against Duke and Michigan State, respectively.
