One year after the death of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, who took his own life in the parking lot of the team facility after murdering the mother of his child at their home, a man was killed nearly a quarter of a mile from the scene.
News surfaced after the Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos that a man had been killed in a car following a brief struggle.
From Robert Klemko of Sports Illustrated:
Police say a man was killed after 5pm following a struggle in Chiefs Lot A. A white male in his mid20s was in a car when the owner arrived.

A struggle ensued and the man was eventually taken to the hospital and died. Police say there was no obvious cause of death...

The man was not shot or stabbed. All of it happened a quarter-mile away from where Jovan Belcher killed himself this day last year.

Re the Chiefs parking lot death: the man who was discovered in the car wrongfully is the one who died

Police not disclosing reason for the fight. One investigator I spoke with suggested the man was already ailing in someway when fight began.

Curiously, upon my cursory inspection, the car showed no signs of a break-in.

This is a fluid and sad situation, but that is all of the information that is available at this time.
