Another hard fought battle was had between two teams in the NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams.

The victor this time was San Francisco, by a score of 23-13.

Offensively for the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick had quite the outing, completing 19 of 28 passes for 275 yards and a touchdown. He finished the evening with a quarterback rating of 111.5. Running back rank Gore made plays when he needed to, and rushed the ball 15 times for 42 yards and a score of his own.

Many of the 49ers’ wide receivers saw action tonight, especially Michael Crabtree, who played in his first game of the season. Crabtree had 2 catches for 68 yards. Leading not only the team, but the whole game in receiving, however, was none other than wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who caught 9 passes for a total of 98 yards.

For the Rams, the game obviously ended a little worse than they expected. Quarterback Kellen Clemens completed 19 of 37 passes for 218 yards, with one touchdown and one pick. Zac Stacy led the game in rushing, with 19 carries for 72 yards. Tight End Jared Cook caught three passes for 49 yards, which also led the team.

The 8-4 49ers move one step closer to catching the Seattle Seahawks for the division crown, who could have a tough time getting a win against New Orleans tonight. San Francisco plays  at home next week against Seattle.

The Rams fall to 5-7 on the season, and will face off against the Arizona Carinals next week on the road.
