NFL Standings Week 13: Divisional races heating up

We’re getting closer to the end of the season and some divisions in the NFL are still up for grabs. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are tied atop the NFC East with 7-5 records. Right now, the Cowboys are ahead of the Eagles on a tie breaker in head-to-head win percentage.

The NFC North is another close race. The Detroit Lions hold a one game lead over the Chicago Bears who lost to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The most intriguing race in the NFC might be in the South division. The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers both have nine wins, of course the Saints play on Monday Night Football so that could change. They’ll then square off in two of the next three weeks.

The AFC has less excitement. Each divisional leader has at least a two game lead with the exception of the AFC West. After the Denver Broncos won both games against the Kansas City Chiefs it looks unlikely that they’ll fall out of the division lead. The Broncos own the tie breaker so the Chiefs would need to move ahead of the Broncos in the standings, but they trail by a game with four games left in the season.
