The Houston Texans will be without tight end Owen Daniels this weekend. Not really, surprising since he hasn’t played since the first week of October because of a fractured leg. The Texans were hopeful that they’d get Daniels back since this is the first week he is eligible to player after being placed on injured reserved with a designation to return.
Daniels has resumed practicing, but it wasn’t enough to get into game shape and back up to speed.
“O.D. did work on the field — not with the team but on his own — and had a really good day,” head coach Gary Kubiak said, via the Houston Chronicle. “Obviously, he’s not going to play this week. But he made a lot of progress, so we’ll see where we’re at heading into the weekend.”
Daniels is trying to get ready and leaving the decision up to the team.
“I’m just getting myself ready, and it’s up to (the team),” Daniels said. “It’s not my decision.”
