It seems that if you want to propose to someone, you can be lame and do it in a fancy restaurant or you can grow a pair and do it in front of thousands of people at a sporting event. On Thursday night, not only did one man do exactly this in Chicago, but he topped all marriage proposals to have ever occurred at a sporting event.

The proposal happened during the third quarter of the Chicago Bulls win over the Miami Heat on Thursday and was a highlight to more than a few people in attendance. At halftime, a cheerleader named Ariana Rosado was brought out to the center of the court and told to sit in a chair. Her fellow Luvabulls then performed a dance around her to the Bruno Mars song “I Think I Want To Marry You”.

The kicker came when one of the dancing mascots unzipped his suit to reveal Rosado’s boyfriend who proceeded to get on one knee and ask for her hand in marriage.

We’ve seen marriage proposals at games before but this one is way up there in terms of just being as cool as it can be. Sporting game marriage proposals always run the risk of being tacky and lame but whoever proposes to his girlfriend at a Bulls game next has his work cut out for him when it comes to topping this.

In fact anyone who ever proposes at a sporting event again needs to step their game up because this one is going to be hard to beat.
