2. Chip Kelly

Kelly is another from worst to first example of how a change in head coach can turn a team around. While some were ready to give him the award after the first half of their Week 1 game, Kelly has maintained the Eagles through the bumps and bruises that come along with a new head coach instituting an entirely new system to a team.

He’s got to get some of the credit for the smooth transition that has taken place between Mike Vick and Nick Foles at quarterback and he’s smart enough to know that no matter how fast a tempo he wants to run his offense his best bet is to hand it off to Shady McCoy.

The irony of both Andy Reid and his replacement in Philly being in the coach of the year conversation is not lost on me either.
