Jacksonville Jaguars can still make AFC playoffs
By Josh Hill
A few weeks ago, and for most of the season, we’ve been predicting who the Jacksonville Jaguars would take with the first overall pick and then started the rest of the NFL Draft from there. But after getting hot late in the sea on, this whirlwind year for Jaguars fans has gotten even crazier as the Jags are not yet mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
CBS threw up a graphic that laid out exactly what needs to happen for the Jaguars to make the postseason this year and, in short, a lot needs to happen. But Jaguars fans are universally quoting Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber when they heard this news — so you’re saying there’s a chance?
It’s a slim chance but given how suspect the teams they need to lose are, the Jaguars could potentially be in the thick of the playoff hunt by the end of the week. Miami could very well lose out because they’re not that great, the Jets are pretty up ad down, the Raiders are no safe bet to ever win and the Steelers losing one more time this year isn’t that hard to believe.
San Diego seems to be the one thing that could throw this plan out of whack, but the Jaguars first need to win out the rest of their season for any of this to be possible. But there’s a chance and the Jaguars making the playoffs would be one of the greatest things to have happened this season.
