Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 16 playoffs
If you don’t think the waiver wire can radically impact your fantasy football playoffs, all you have to do is look at last week’s action to find plenty of fantasy leaders who were widely available on last week’s waiver wire. Matt Asiata scored a league-high three rushing touchdowns, Ryan Tannehill had another solid game at QB, and Julian Edelman was once again a PPR monster as he and the Pats rally fell just short.
If you’re still playing this week, it’s critical that you know who’s available on your leagues waiver wire both to improve your team, and to try and make sure your opponent doesn’t get a key piece he needs to get his own big win.
Throughout the season, we have provided the top ten pickups each week with a quick rundown of the opportunities in front of the players and the upside they represent. We’ve got all your fantasy football coverage all week at Fansided’s fantasy page where you’ll find continuing coverage and analysis to help you get the win you need in week 16.
All players on this list or in the “best of the rest” on the final page are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues as of Monday and their ownership percentages are included in parentheses. That means that some of the players on the list in the past (last week’s post available here) like Julian Edelman (pictured above), Andre Brown, Donald Brown, Rashad Jennings, Nick Foles, Coby Fleener, Riley Cooper, Keenan Allen, Zac Stacy, Alshon Jeffery, Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas, and Chris Ivory are no longer eligible to appear even though they still make good pickups if they’re available.
If you’re not sure about your waiver claim or want some personalized advice, feel free to ask me on twitter @ZT_Sports or include the question in a comment at the bottom of the page. I’ll do my best to answer all your questions as quickly as possible. Last week, I was sidelined for part of the week with a emergency appendectomy, but I’m planning on being back in full-time action this week.
All scoring references are from NFL.com’s default scoring which simply is used to give a common baseline to work from. Adjust appropriately your team and league scoring system. Here are my top ten additions headed into week 16:
