Orlando Magic’s Arron Afflalo out tonight
The Orlando Magic will be without their best player when they take on the lowly Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, guard Arron Afflalo won’t be available.
Afflalo, who was acquired from the Denver Nuggets in a four-team deal that sent Dwight Howard from the Magic to the Los Angeles Lakers and Andrew Bynum from the Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers before the 2012-13 season, is having a fantastic year for the Magic. He’s averaging 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 37.6 minutes per game.
The Magic were conflicted about keeping Afflalo in the offseason because they wanted to make the #2 pick in the draft, Victor Oladipo, a starter. The Magic decided to use the two together in the starting five, which will make replacing Afflalo fairly easy, at least in terms of position. Tobias Harris, who has been bothered by a high ankle sprain, will start at the three.
The Magic and Jazz will tip at 7:00 pm EST.
