Chicago Bulls lose Jimmy Butler to ankle injury vs. Thunder
By Josh Hill
The theme for the Chicago Bulls season this year has been injuries and no matter who is in the game or how close the team looks to getting back on track, an injury bubbles up and splatters depression all over Bulls fans. The latest injury is to Jimmy Butler, who just returned from injury not long ago. Butler left Thursday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an ankle injury and wasn’t able to contribute at all to the Bulls efforts.
Needless to say, even Bulls beat writers are floored by the number of injuries the team has sustained this season.
Butler’s injury hopefully isn’t serious but it was serious enough to hold him out of the rest of the game against the Thunder on Thursday. Butler was only able to contribute three points, a block and a steal before rolling this ankle on Nick Collison’s foot early in the contest. Chicago doesn’t play on Friday and return to action on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, which means the Bulls will monitor Butler’s status on their off-day and further diagnose his chances of playing later this weekend.
