Grizzlies at Mavericks final score: Dallas wins 105-91
Dirk Nowitzki returned to the Dallas Mavericks’ lineup on Wednesday after missing Saturday’s 106-103 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks because of a stomach virus. In his return, he scored 20 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out five assists, had two steals and blocked a shot while leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 105-91 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night.
Monta Ellis added 18 points and Vince Carter chipped in 14.
The Grizzlies were led by Tony Allen, who had 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Zach Randolph and Jon Leuer scored 14 points apiece for the Grizzlies, who have now lost five consecutive games and seven of their last eight.
Tayshaun Prince sat out the game with a sore left knee, joining Mike Conley (thigh) on the bench. Last year’s Defensive Player of the Year, Marc Gasol, continues to sit out with a knee injury.
The Grizzlies showed fight in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 66-62 with a 13-1 spurt, but the Mavericks closed the quarter on a 12-4 run, pushing the lead back to 12.
The Mavericks are now 15-10 while the Grizzlies are just 10-15.
