New Orleans at Los Angeles final score: Clippers beat Pelicans 108-95
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 108-95 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Clippers improved to 18-9, and the Pelicans fell to 11-13.
The Clippers worked up a thirteen point lead heading into the fourth quarter, and ended the game with the same margin of victory. The Pelicans scored 30 points in the fourth, but did not force the necessary stops on defense to make a comeback.
Los Angeles won the game at the line hitting 31 of 36 free throws. The Pelicans were decent from the charity stripe hitting 14 of 20, but the free throw advantage went to LA.
Despite a monstrous 20 rebounds by DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers were outrebounded 55-49. Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans of the Pelicans contributed to the rebounding advantage with 12 and 13 rebounds, respectively. Davis and Jordan finished with double-doubles, and Evans recorded a smooth triple-double.
LA Clippers top performers: Blake Griffin scored 21 points, collected 10 rebounds, and dropped five dimes. Jared Dudley netted 20 points, including four of six from downtown. Jamal Crawford scored 17 points along with four assists. DeAndre Jordan finished with 14 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Chris Paul secured a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.
New Orleans top performers: Anthony Davis scored 24 points and grabbed 12 boards. Ryan Anderson netted 17 points along with nine rebounds. Jrue Holiday dropped 10 dimes along with 13 points. Tyreke Evans finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Anthony Morrow added 11 points for the Cans.
