The Denver Broncos were without wide receiver Wes Welker just one week ago and he has already been ruled out of the team’s Week 16 match up. Not only will Welker miss this week’s game against the Houston Texans, but there is a growing belief that he will be shut down for the remainder of the regular season.

The report was passed along Friday morning by ESPN’s SportsCenter:

Welker suffered concussions in back-to-back weeks, so it is nice to see the team proceeding with caution.

With two weeks off, Welker would have plenty of time to go through the required concussion protocol before returning to the team in time for the postseason.
