After another home loss, this time against the Memphis Grizzlies, the New York Knicks are still trying to find their identity according to All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony. The team has already lost 10 home games this season.

“Last year we were a different type of team,” said Anthony after the game. “We were an established team from the jump. We had an identity from the jump and right now it seems like we are still searching for that this far into the season.”

Anthony scored 30 points but the Knicks still came up short, losing the game 95-87. Inconsistencies with the way the team approaches each game are also a problem for the Knicks according to Anthony.

“One night we come to play and we win and some nights we don’t come to play and  we lose a basketball game,” he said. “The games we lose, its obvious why we lose.”

As far as defending the home court, Anthony believes there is a mental aspect to it and that individual players just need to go out there and start having fun again.

“I don’t think it’s nothing that has to do with basketball at this point,” he said. “I think it is in our heads.”

Next up for the Knicks is a road game against the Orlando Magic on Monday, Dec. 23.
