Washington Wizards at Boston Celtics final score: Wizards beat Celtics 106-99

The Washington Wizards defeated the Boston Celtics 106-99 at TD Garden in Boston.  The Wizards improved to 12-13, and the Celtics fell to 12-16.

The Wizards scored only 14 points in the first quarter, but played well the rest of the game to beat the Celtics.

The Wizards caught up with the Celtics after a Martell Webster three pointer tied the game at 74 with 41 seconds to go in the third quarter.

In the fourth, the Celtics worked up an eight point lead with 6:13 to go.  Over the next 3:49, Washington went on a 14-1 run to take a 98-93 lead.  The Wizards held on in the final minutes hitting six of six from the line to ice the game.

Washington top performers: Trevor Ariza scored 27 points and collected eight rebounds.  John Wall netted 20 points, dropped nine dimes, and had six steals. Marcin Gortat had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as well as four blocks.  Nene Hilario chipped in 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Kevin Seraphin finished with 13 points and six rebounds.

Boston top performers: Avery Bradley scored 26 points and grabbed five boards. Jared Sullinger had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds.  Jeff Green scored 13 points, and Brandon Bass added a symmetrical double-double with 11 points and 11 bounds.  Jordan Crawford finished with 11 points and eight dimes.

Next game:  The Wizards travel to Minnesota to take on the Wolves on Friday at 8 pm ET on NBATV.  The Celtics travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers tomorrow at 6 pm ET.
