After a putrid 0-4 start to the season, the chances of the Pittsburgh Steelers making the postseason seemed to be very slim. However, there was plenty of football left to be played and the wild AFC has played into the Steelers favor.
Pittsburgh entered this week needing a win and plenty of help to keep their playoff hopes alive, but it was an early Christmas for the Steelers as they got the perfect storm.
With a win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday evening, the Steelers slim chances of making the postseason remained alive, but they will still need a little help next week to earn the postseason berth.
Here is what needs to happen for the Steelers:
- Steelers win over Cleveland Browns
- New York Jets win over Miami Dolphins
- Cincinnati Bengals win over Baltimore Ravens
- Kansas City Chiefs win over San Diego Chargers
It is a lot that needs to happen, but it is not entirely out of the question.
If the situation plays out, four teams will be tied at 8-8 and the Steelers will hold the tie-breaker that would send them through to the playoffs.
So don’t give up just yet, Steelers fans. We are saying there’s a chance.
