AFC Defensive Player of the Week goes to Jerrell Freeman
By Jovan Alford
In a possible AFC wild card matchup, the Indianapolis Colts took on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Indianapolis Colts came out on the winning side defeating the Chiefs 23-7.
With the win, the Colts have an outside chance of getting a first round bye. The Colts were led on defense this week by linebacker Jerrell Freeman.
Freeman, the CFL standout had five tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, two interceptions and three pass deflections. Just like Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, Freeman was all over the field. The Colts will need that type of play if they want to advance in the playoffs this season.
So far this season, Freeman has 118 tackles, five forced fumbles, and three interceptions. I would have to say that those numbers are definitely Pro Bowl worthy.
The Indianapolis Colts are 10-5 on the season and finish up the regular season at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars as they look to make a playoff push towards the Super Bowl.
