Toby Gerhart doubtful for Sunday’s game against Detroit Lions
By Jovan Alford
With Adrian Peterson battling through injuries the last few weeks of the season and being held out by the Minnesota Vikings. It gives backup running back Toby Gerhart the opportunity to get some playing time.
According to Chip Scoggins of the Minnesota Star Tribune, both Peterson and Gerhart will not be practicing today. Also Toby Gerhart is doubtful for Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury.
If Toby Gerhart cannot go on Sunday expect to see Joe Banyard get some playing time. If you remember, Asiata had the game of his life scoring three rushing touchdowns on only 51 rushing yards against the Philadelphia Eagles a couple of weeks ago but he is out for Sunday’s game.
Banyard has not played much this season. Matter of fact, in last Sunday’s against the Cincinnati Bengals, he only had one reception for 11 yards. So if Gerhart can’t go expect to see Joe Banyard running the ball against that Lions’ defense.
