All week, the entire sports world has been enthralled by the status of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. After reports began to surface earlier in the week that Romo would be ruled out for the rest of the season with a back injury and would not be able to take the field this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles in their NFC East Championship showdown, head coach Jason Garrett refuted the reports, saying there was still a chance the embattled signal caller could play.
On Friday, two days before the contest, that tune changed drastically as Garrett that Romo underwent back surgery to repair the herniated disks he was diagnosed with:
Jason Garrett: “Tony Romo underwent back surgery this morning.”

With the news, Kyle Orton will now be the starting QB on Sunday when the Cowboys take the field against the red hot Eagles.
