The recruitment of five-star defensive end Lorenzo Carter figures to be one of the more intriguing races leading up to national signing day in February.

One of the primary reasons why this will have so much drama leading up to the final moments leading up to his faxing his signed letter of intent if because his own family is torn where they want their 6-6, 230-pound pass-rushing son to go.

As current Arkansas Razorbacks running back Alex Collins can attest, recruiting can get ugly when a family is divided, do you side with mom, dad or make up your own mind?

One school missing from his parent’s wish list is the school that was perceived to be his early leader and that’s the Alabama Crimson Tide, but they are no longer in the running after dropping out of his top four that now includes the Florida State Seminoles and LSU Tigers where Carter will visit in January.

Carter’s lone official visit thus far has been to Florida on Sept. 21 and in addition to LSU will take officials to his other two schools currently occupying spots in his top four.

I think Carter currently is leaning toward staying close to his Norcross, Ga. home and picks the Bulldogs and at the same time makes his momma happy.
