When the day started, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was unsure of his future and so was everyone else around the league. But after his team won their final game of their season and knocked the Miami Dolphins out of the playoffs in the process, Jets owner Woody Johnson has apparently made his decision about Rex Ryan’s future.

According to Jets beat writer Kimberly A. Martin, the Jets have decided to retain Rex Ryan as head coach and he will return for at least another season in 2014.

That’s more than just a vote of confidence in Rex Ryan as Woody Johnson is clearly committed to Ryan leading his team and will see where that leads in 2014. There are still plenty of questions the Jets need to iron out in the offseason but one of those questions won’t be who the head coach will be in 2014.
