Carmelo Anthony says trade rumors are just more noise
By Corey Leahy
With the Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony getting ready to test the waters of free agency after this season concludes, there have been a rise in the number of trade reports and rumors involving the small forward.
Recently, there have been rumors surrounding a trade between the Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers, as a straight up trade between Blake Griffin and Carmelo Anthony has been mentioned. Doc Rivers, coach of the Clippers, has said this past week that those rumors are “just stupid,” and that that trade wouldn’t happen.
However, there’s no doubt that Carmelo wouldn’t mind playing with his buddy, Chris Paul, over in Los Angeles. But when asked about the idea of leaving NY for LA, Anthony stated what was on his mind. From ESPN,
"“Everybody always says that they want to play with this guy or play with that guy,” Anthony said. “Me and Chris have been rumored to play together since he [went to LA], there were always trade rumors to try to get us together. It never happens.”"
