Czech Republic Releases 2014 Olympic Hockey Roster – Jaromir Jagr to Play in His Fifth Olympic Games
With just one more day before the deadline to submit their rosters for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, the Czech Republic has finalized their roster.
Jagr played in his first Olympic Games in 1998 in Nagano, Japan, where he helped the team claim the Gold Medal. He also earned a Bronze medal with the Czech Republic in 2006 at the Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. He also competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the 2010 games in Vancouver.
It’s no wonder that Jagr made the squad this year. Besides his incredibly large amount of Olympic experience, he currently leads the New Jersey Devils in points. He has 13 goals and 21 assists for a total of 34 points.
Right behind Jagr in the points for New Jersey is left wing Patrik Elias. He has 7 goals and 8 assists for a total of 25 points. He will be joining his teammate in Sochi as well.
Many other teams throughout the league have players represented in this year’s Czech roster.
