The dismissal of former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak who refused to make changes to his staff has added to the openings around the NFL, but according to CBS Sports Jason LaCanfora don’t expect a hire to be made until Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn can interview.

Teams are able to interview coaches in the playoffs if their team has a bye week, but because the Titans dragged their feet with Munchak they will have to wait until the Seahawks lose.

Quinn is in his second stint with the Seahawks but first season as the team’s defensive coordinator after he returned to the Pacific Northwest after he served as the Florida Gators defensive coordinator and defensive line coach from 2011-2012.

Titans general manager Ruston Webster is in charge of leading his first coaching hire and and the team’s second since moving from Houston to Tennessee and is focused on finding the right fit.

"“‘The biggest thing to me that you can’t do is rule out guys,” Webster said. ”`I want an offensive guy or a defensive guy, previous head coaching experience.’ . It causes you to miss out on possibly some good candidates.”"
