One of Japanese best pitchers and now Major League free agent has finally arrived in the United States according to David Waldstein on Twitter.
NL official says Tanaka landed in LA instead of Chicago because of weather. Anyway, he is apparently in US for grand tour of teams.

As Waldstein states in his Tweet, Masahiro Tanaka will be getting a look at Major League teams that are interested in signing him. He was originally scheduled to meet with the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox in Chicago but the weather up in the mid-west has been wild over the last couple of weeks.
I’m sure he would appreciate not freezing before he signs with a ball club considering the Cubs are a team who should be considered a favorite to land Tanaka.
A decision should be made within a few weeks before pitchers and catchers have to report to Spring Training. That and his deadline has been set for around January 24th to sign him. At least we know Masahiro Tanaka on American soil, which only means the games have officially begun.
