NBA Rumors: Doc Rivers says Hedo Turkoglu impressed at Los Angeles Clippers workout
By Josh Hill
When the orlando magic rejected two trades and eventually cut Hedo Turkoglu, it was unclear who other than the Los Angeles Clippers and Atlanta Hawks would be interested in the free agent veteran. Turns out the Lakers really didn’t want him that bad but they’re crosstown rivals do, as the Clippers again dropped major hints today that they’ll be in on Hedo Tukoglu sometime in the near future.
Tukoglu worked out with the Clippers on Friday and impressed head coach Doc Rivers so much that he mentioned it to the media afterwords. Rovers again reiterated that the Clippers are interested in signing Turkoglu but failed to give at timetable for such a decision to be made.
The Clippers have been looking for some depth, especially with injuries starting to throw their season for a loop. Turkoglu wouldn’t replace Chris Paul, who is still sidelined with that shoulder injury, but he’d add an extra body to the roster and would also give another three point presence as well.
One of the Los Angeles teams certainty wants Turkoglu, but it’s not the team who originally had interest and it’s a team not sure of when they’ll offer a contract.
