Tuesday night, the Florida Gators enjoyed their second SEC win in three days when they routed the rival Georgia Bulldogs at home, 72-50. They were able to get themselves the win despite being without their leading scorer, Casey Prather.
But, they’re also without another player who has never even taken the court for Billy Donovan and the Gators, and that’s freshman Chris Walker.
Walker is a McDonald’s All-American that is still waiting for clearance from the NCAA about his academic eligibility so that he can finally see some action on the court. The only time that he’s seen on a basketball court has been in practice, which is all he’s been allowed to do.
Obviously, a situation like this is frustrating for not only Donovan, the rest of the coaching staff and the teammates, but the fans as well.
In tonight’s game against Georgia, they expressed that frustration in the form of wearing t-shirts with “Free Chris Walker” plastered across.

The frustration is more than understandable because as the NCAA takes their sweet time with another case that more than likely could take them all of ten minutes to resolve, the Gators are missing a potential key piece that they could use, especially given the problems they’ve had with injuries this season.
