When Jerryd Bayless arrived in Boston via trade from the Memphis Grizzlies, the move was viewed as one that could largely help Boston with its finances. But since arriving, Bayless has been making an impact on Brad Stevens team and as a result, he’s lobbying for the relationship to continue.
According to CSNNE beat writer A. Sherrod Blakely, Bayless would like to remain with Boston after his contract ends at the end of this current season.
"“Would l like to find a home? Of course,” Bayless said. “I would love to be here for the rest of my career if I could and find some stability.”"
The desire for Bayless to want to stay in Boston may be also motivated by the fact that he hasn’t yet truly found an NBA home. He’s been on five teams since coming into the NBA back in 2008 with the Portland Trail Blazers and since being traded to New Orleans in 2010, hasn’t really found a home long term with anyone.
Bayless is looking to change this with Boston, and he’s clearly doing his best on and off the court to convince the Celtics he’s worth keeping around beyond the 2013-14 season.
