Heat at Wizards final score: Washington rolls 114-97

John Wall had 25 points, nine assists and five rebounds to help the Washington Wizards spoil Greg Oden’s Miami Heat debut in a 114-97 victory over the Heat at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night.

Nene Hilario added 19 points, nine assists, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks while Bradley Beal scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists.

Heat center Greg Oden, who played in a game for the first time since 2009, had six points on two-of-three shooting in eight minutes.

Chris Bosh led the Heat with 26 points and seven rebounds and LeBron James had 25 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals.  Norris Cole added 15 points, seven assists and three steals.

The Wizards took control of the game immediately, taking a 43-18 lead after just one quarter and pushed the lead to 34 in the second quarter. The Heat rallied to cut the lead to nine entering the fourth quarter, but they simply ran out of gas and Wall and Beal helped put the game away.

Trevor Booker had 13 points and 11 rebounds while Marcin Gortat had 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocks for the Wizards.

The Wizards are now 18-19 while the Heat are 27-11.
